Berlin, Deutschland

the brandenburg gate

sections from the berlin wall

Along with many other european visitor sites, the brandenburg gate has its street artists, performers and statues. The guy in the foreground has several bubble making stations setup for visitors to play with. this is a great idea because 1) kids absolutely love bubbles, 2) it's crowd interactive which means 3) he can stand there and chill while he's making money. he pretty much owns the street performance scene here. Spiderman (standing in the middle) on the other hand, is an example of what not to do. he has a super lame costume and just stands there with a net over his head. exactly like you can see. doesn't move at all. although, he may be going for "parody of spiderman" rather than spiderman, but if that's the case then its confusing and he needs a sign to clarify the fact. farther back you can see the green clown and the monk statue who are so busy they are talking amongst themselves.
