roma termini central train station. i met this guy who, earlier in the day, was robbed by a team of theives right next to the station. he lost his ipad, 5dmkII and one of those L lenses! poor guy. the short story is: one of them threw a liquid on his back, one came to tell him about it, convinced him to take off his pack to look at his back, and then another came and snatched it, then others pointed in various directions to lead him astray. this is why i'm so paranoid about my stuff. btw, there are 2 mcdonalds in the station and they both sell pistacchio flavor mcflurries. score!

st peter's basillica, the vatican. many a lady was turned away for too short shorts.
the sistine chapel. i always pictured it as some grand and beautifully illuminated domed building. like capitol hill (or this is how i imagined it when i first heard when i was a kid). but you walk into the room and it looks like 1000 people hiding out. its a big dark box. and the sistine polizia are yelling "no foto. nooo foto!" the entire time. its a shame they don't regulate the flow of people into the room so everyone can appreciate the splendor of it all. but the chaos of the (people in the) room fits since it is in italy.

pizza at dar poeta. as far as i can tell, they add cornmeal to the crust. it ends up tasting like corn chips in a way.
spent a day in napoli so i could try some good pizzas. the day before i realized napolian pizza (the round kind) is named after napoli and not napolean. duh. but what about the strawberry, vanilla, chocolate ice cream mix?
da michelle has this incredible crust thats not thick at all but so wonderfully chewy. super fresh!
di matteo: wow. hate to do this, but this was the best pizza i've had. buffala motz. just off the vine freshness. perfect crust. i was in heaven.
